The Barnsbury Book Festival | The Making of Manderley Press

  • Jean Stokes Community Centre Coatbridge House, Carnoustie Dr, London N1 0DX N1 0DX UK (map)

The Making of Manderley Press
Rebeka Russell is the founder and publisher of Manderley Press, a small publishing house that specialises in exquisitely produced editions of books inspired by distinctive places, buildings or landmarks.

She will be in conversation about setting up her business from her own kitchen during the pandemic and how she makes such beautiful books.

Having worked as a bookseller and in publishing, Rebeka began work on Manderley Press during the Covid-19 lockdown, and launched her press in 2021.

The first title to be published was a new edition of Edinburgh: Picturesque Notes by Robert Louis Stevenson. Since then she has steadily grown the list, focusing on books that offer readers a vivid connection to real places and landscapes, all introduced and illustrated by the very best contemporary writers and artists.
